Centuries later, during the Allar golden age, a new breach in the boundary between Planes was opened. In the ensuing chaos, a number of those involved were irrevocably fused with some of the Voracious entities that poured forth from the rift. What followed was the Devouring, a generation of fire, shadow, and relentless devastation that swept through the Allar civilization.
Thus were born the Malduine: hybrid predators marked by black sclera, a dangerous new evolution forged from the collision of planes.
